Sink faucet: How to replace it?

In the kitchen, there are a number of fixtures that are essential. One of these is the sink faucet, a metal device that controls the delivery and shut-off of water. When the faucet fails, it must be repaired. While some plumbing work requires the intervention of a plumber, some can be done by yourself. Here's what you need to do to easily replace your sink faucet.

Step 1: Take the measurements

Once you have identified the faucet model you are interested in, you can proceed to take the measurements. Indeed, the purchase of this equipment must necessarily be preceded by the determination of the measurement of the center distance. The latter is the distance between the two tap holes. Step 2: Turn off the water supply

Before turning off the water supply, you should first examine the condition of the pipe to see if the sealing washers are still working. If not, the pipe must be replaced. Only after this step can you turn off the water supply by closing the valve under the sink. When you can't find it, you must turn off the water meter. Then, open the faucet to drain the water remaining in the distribution pipe.

Step 3: Install the new faucet

Start by removing the old faucet by separating it from the supply pipe. Then place a bucket underneath to catch any remaining water in the drains. Remove the actuator from the lever and then remove the fastener with a wrench.  Now you can proceed to install your new faucet by following the instructions provided with the equipment. Next, put sealant or silicone sealant on the base of the faucet to secure it. Finally, place the fixing nuts and pipes after inserting the butts.
